Exciting new coaching resource for DS Soccer coaches !

Update on age groupings for 2016/2017

You may have seen US Soccer's decisions on changes to age groupings for youth soccer. Club soccer (GPS, NEFC, Total Soccer, Nor'Easter etc) are moving to birth year cohorts for teams i.e. 2006 Boys, much like ice hockey and swimming. In contrast, DS Soccer town teams play in the BAYS leagues and a league-wide vote took place recently deciding that our DS Soccer teams and opponents will REMAIN school grade based and NOT MOVE to birth year groupings. Age groups that had previously played 6v6 and 8v8 will play 7v7 and 9v9 respectively.

If you have a desire for more detail, email either of the Club co-Presidents.

Respect is central to our club's mission and code of conduct. This excellent slideshow from US Youth Soccer on respecting opponents is worth sharing for players and parents. Please do take at this link

US Soccer Passback & School The World

DS Soccer Club is proud to highlight the great work that Scott Martin has done in conjunction with the US Soccer Passback Program.

Through the Passback program we were matched with the School the World program to channel gently used soccer equipment to their schools in Central America.  Scott's efforts resulted in 250 pieces of equipment for donation to this worthy cause.

Many thanks go out to Scott and those who donated.

A note from the Club on 2016 evaluation sessions & end of season placement process

Dear DSSC Parents, Players and Families,

We hope that everybody has had an enjoyable spring season with DSSC. It has been very encouraging to see the development that has been made across all levels of our program ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

As we come towards the end of the spring season, we are all starting to think about fall soccer and the player placement process for next year. Tryouts are taking place the week of June 6th. Please go onto the website link below and double check the time of our relevant age group. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS THE AGE GROUP YOUR SON/DAUGHTER WILL BE IN FOR FALL 2016.
